Working Process of SMC Whole Bathroom Hydraulic Press
The basic process of SMC bathroom compression molding is to put a certain amount of pre-treated molding material into the preheated die, and apply a high pressure to fill the mold cavity with the molding material. Under the predetermined temperature conditions, the molding material gradually solidifies in the mold cavity. Then the SMC product is taken out of the mold of the hydraulic press, and then necessary auxiliary processing is performed to obtain the final product.

According to the structural shape of the product, the feeding position, and the process, the shape and size of the sheet cutting are determined, and the sample cutting is made. The cutting shape is mostly square or round. The size is mostly 40%-80% of the projected area of the product surface. To prevent contamination by external impurities, the upper and lower films are peeled off before loading.

Before pressing, the mold must be thoroughly cleaned and the mold release agent must be applied. Before adding the material, the mold release agent must be wiped evenly with a clean gauze to avoid affecting the appearance quality of the product.
4. Place raw materials
The placement and method of SMC raw materials directly affect the appearance, strength, and directionality of the product. Generally, the feeding position should be in the middle of the mold cavity. For asymmetric complex products, the feeding position must ensure that the material flow reaches all ends of the mold cavity at the same time during molding. The way of placing raw materials must be conducive to exhaust. When stacking multiple layers of sheets, it is best to stack the material blocks in a pagoda shape with the upper small and the lower large. In addition, try not to add the material blocks separately, otherwise, air entrapment and welding areas will be generated, resulting in reduced product strength.
5. Press mold:
When the material block enters the mold cavity, the press moves down quickly. When the upper and lower molds are aligned, slowly apply the required molding pressure. After a certain curing system, the product molding is completed. During the molding process, various molding process parameters and hydraulic press operating conditions should be reasonably selected.
6. Demolding:
The curing time (also called insulation time) of SMC at the molding temperature is related to its properties and curing system, molding temperature, product thickness and color, and other factors.
